A girl stares up from the water, i wonder who she is. For a second i thought i knew her, and then i wish i did. There’s a story in her eyes, lullabies and long goodbyes. I tilt my head and wonder if I’ll ever see her cry. I wonder if they would care, if one day she wasn’t there. Or if the storms would lessen if her beauty was something rare. Sand slips through her fingers, stained red from dripping thoughts. Black rose petals, falling…colors they long forgot. open eyes scanning horizons so admired by the rest, seeing black and white and dreaming of something more to manifest. Her mind screams out for silence…but it’s what she dreads the most, the writing on her arms becomes the cold, lost, broken host. Whispers in the trees tell of her broken dreams, and rumors fill the ocean, tearing at her seams. She smiles for the sunlight, and lies to please the rest, I realize she is a painter, and that smile is her best.
